John Denver became a star thanks to the folk songs he wrote, most of which were situated in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. is a Mexican-born musician and singer who fell in love with Colorado. Denver's most popular songs about his home state inspired many visitors to Colorado. I can't think of any other performer who embodies Colorado like John Denver said G. Brown curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame. Denver was the Hall of Fame's first ever to be inducted. Denver has become the image of Colorado for a lot of people across the globe. In my journeys, you meet someone from the other part of the globe, or someone of New Zealand and you say "I'm of Colorado and the first thing they say is Oh John Denver! Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads was co-written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief career in folk groups which was Denver's first Top 10 solo hit. Danoff was credited with Johnny Cash as the inspiration for the track, however Denver realized that it could become a smash hit when the song was first heard by him. A few days after performing to an excited audience in Washington D.C., the performer recorded the track.
